An in-depth Jett Valorant guide that will explain everything you need to know about the Agent and the best way to play with it. From her strengths to weaknesses you will find everything you need to know about Jett.

Jett Role

Jett is one of five duelists in the game. Duelists are the most aggressive players on a team. They are self-sufficient fraggers and are expected to find the opening pick. The Agent was released in the beta phase and quickly became one of the most played agents.

Most professional players and higher ranked players see Jett as the best duelist in the game, and one of the agents that can win a round single handly.

Her kit is one of the strongest in the game. Especially if you want to play with the operator. The Agent is the most picked one in the competitive scene and almost every team has a dedicated Jett player.

So let's take a deep dive into Jett's abilities.

An in-depth look at Jett abilities

Has a duelist Jett is supposed to seek fights, engage the enemies, and find the opening pick most times wining that area of the map for her team.  Her kit makes her probably the most complete duelist in the game so far.

Jett is a high skilled Agent. Meaning you will have to put in the time to master her. However, when played at a high level the Agent can take over games.

Drift

  • Passive
  • Function: "Holding the jump button while falling allows you to glide through the air"

Drift is Jett passive and allows her to glide through the air while falling by holding the jump button. This makes it impossible for Jett to take fall damage. Jett can still use her weapons and abilities while using drift

CLOUDBURST

  • Cost: 200 credits
  • Duration: 4.5 seconds
  • Charges: 2
  • Function: blocking vision
  • Default Command Key: C

Jett throws a projectile that upon impact expands and forms a vision-blocking cloud. Cloudburst is used to block the enemy's vision giving time for Jett to reposition herself. By moving the crosshair you can control the direction in which the projectile moves in.

Despite her smokes having a short duration, and blocking a small area they are still very strong when used in a way that can block the enemy vision while entering the site.

UPDRAFT

  • Costs: 150 credits
  • Charges: 2
  • Function: propels Jett high in the air instantly
  • Default Command Key: Q

On Updraft Jett is instantly propelled high in the air. This ability allows Jett to get to spots only she is capable of. By being able to get on top of boxes no one else can, or use the ability to get a peek into the bombsite.

This is one of the abilities that make it so hard to play against Jett. She can be playing with an operator in a part of the map no one has access to unless you're playing Jett.

It is also really good to get info in a bombsite or part of the map. You can also use it to get over Sage walls. However, enemies will be able to hear when you use Updraft so don't forget that.

TAILWIND

  • Cost: Free
  • Charges: 1 ( get two kills and it recharges)
  • Function: Jett instantly dashes in the direction she is facing
  • Default Command Key: E

When Jett uses Tailwind she will immediately dash in the direction she is facing. Tailwind is probably Jett second best ability. This ability allows Jett to relocate really fast. It also allows her to change the pace of the game by dashing into the site catching enemies off guard.

Tailwind is the main reason while Jett is the best Agent to play with the operator. You can get a kill and use the dash to relocate. If you fail the shoot you can use the dash to get back to safety.

BLADE STORM

  • Costs: 7 ultimate points
  • Damage: 150 on the head, 50+ on the body and legs
  • Function: Equips a set of Knives
  • Default Command Key: X

When Jett activates Bladestorm she equips a set of six highly accurate throwing knives. If she uses the left button she will fire one knife at a time and this mode has 100% accuracy at all times. Killing an enemy in the single fire mode also recharges your knives.

However, if she uses the right one she will fire them all at the same time and it will not recharge her ammunition even if she kills an enemy.

You can use other abilities while Blade Storm is still active.

How you should Play with Jett

Jett's main focus is to get entry kills like any other duelist. You want to look for duels and try to unlock the bombsite for your team. By combining the use of your abilities you can accelerate the pace of the game in your favor.

You can use Cloudburst to block the vision of your enemies. Then by using Updraft and Tailwind you can quickly get into the bombsite. The fact you can also get a kill and dash either aggressively into the site or safely to get out of the site is also a very strong mechanic.

This is just one of many combinations you can use with Jett that make her so strong. Using Updraft to get o an advantage point especially when playing operator is also something you have to use to your advantage.

As Jett you are the star player. But being a star player also brings a lot of responsibilities. You need to be a consistent entry killer and fragger overall. It's really hard to find value playing Jett if you are not being able to win your duels and get the entry kills or frags overall. Your kit is designed to facilitate you to get kills and not to play a supportive role.

When playing Jett is also crucial you know how to play operator. Despite being a good rifle Jett is also very strong Jett will always be synonymous with the operator. Due to her kit, there is a vast number of things you can do with the operator while playing Jett that you can't do with other Agents.

Jett Weaknesses

Jett doesn't have many weaknesses. That's why she is one of the most played Agents in the game and the best duelist in Valorant.

There are however some Agents that can counter her, especially KAY/O. KAY/O E can prevent Jett from using her abilities. Meaning she can't accelerate the pace of the game by dashing into the site like Jett players want to do.

However, I would say the main weakness of Jett is that you have to frag out, win the duels and get the entry kills in order to be useful. Otherwise, it will be very difficult for you to find a way to help your team.

The good news is Jett kit makes her the best duelist in the game, She can take some time to get used to it. But if you like to play an aggressive style and you love playing with an operator Jett is the perfect Agent for you.

I hope this guide helped you understand how you should utilize Jett to the best of your abilities. Her strengths, weaknesses, what makes her the best duelist in the game, and how to find success with her.
